Dear BU ECAs,

We are pleased to share a paper published by the Loan Market Association (LMA) last week on how the involvement of an export credit agency can affect the drafting of loan documentation.

The paper provides a clear and practical overview of how ECA-supported facility agreements differ from standard corporate lending facilities and is intended as a helpful reference, particularly for colleagues who are new to the export finance market.

Please find the paper attached for your reference. It is also available via the link below.

The paper was developed with help from a task force consisting of the Berne Union, A&O Shearman, HSBC, ING, Linklaters, Mayer Brown and SACE and had input from our ExCo consisting of Acre Impact, CA-CIB, JPM, SACE, Santander and UKEF. Thank you to everyone for their engagement with this work.

Please do circulate the attached guide both internally and externally and raise awareness of its existence.

We would be very grateful to hear the feedback that you get!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Didem Bayseferogullari at the Berne Union Secretariat.

Kind regards,
BU Secretariat
