BU Webinar: Insolvencies and geopolitical risk

22 april, 12 noon uk time

The panel will examine how insolvencies and claims evolve during periods of crisis, comparing historical trends with current dynamics.

It will explore which countries and sectors that are most vulnerable to:

  • immediate and first-order effects (e.g. PRI covered damages, early payment stress and effects of price shocks on energy, fertilisers, and other commodities),
  • secondary and medium-term disruptions (physical shortages and supply chain disruptions, changes in flows of remittances, tourists, petrodollars, as well as investment decisions made due to new cost levels), and
  • third-order, long-term structural impacts (lower growth, higher interest rates and refinancing pressures, and sovereign and corporate risk deterioration).

Besides the above, the discussion will aim to provide practical insights to support effective risk management and recovery strategies.
