Introduction to the EU Energy and Raw Materials Platform
The BU is pleased to invite members to a webinar introducing the newly launched EU Energy and Raw Materials Platform, developed by the European Commission’s DG Energy. Officially launched on 2 July 2025, the platform aims to support European companies in sourcing strategic energy products and raw materials, thereby enhancing competitiveness, advancing decarbonisation efforts, and ensuring security of supply.
The platform facilitates the collection of demand and supply offers, providing aggregation and matchmaking services. It is designed to enable potential joint purchasing across a range of energy-related products, including hydrogen, biomethane, LNG, natural gas, and strategic raw materials.
Building on the success of the 2023 webinar “EU Energy Challenges and the Joint Energy Purchasing Platform”, this session will explore how financial institutions can leverage the platform to identify and match with hydrogen and gas projects, unlocking new market opportunities.
The webinar will be held on Wednesday, 3 September, from 12pm to 1pm (British Summer Time).
Key highlights of the webinar include:
- Insights from DG Energy experts on the current European energy landscape
- A demonstration of platform features tailored for financial institutions
This session is particularly relevant for BU members involved in financing hydrogen and gas projects.
The agenda will be shared shortly. A link to join the webinar will be sent via email upon successful registration.
Information about the platform itself can be found on the EC's website. A launch event recap video for this platform is also available on Youtube.
