Changes in the Bank Board of EXIMBANKA SR

EXIMBANKA SR would like to inform you about recent changes in its top managerial positions. The Government of the Slovak Republic appointed a new top management team for the Export-Import Bank of the Slovak Republic as of February 2024:


  • Mr. Rastislav Podhorec as the Chairman of the Bank Board and CEO
  • Mr. Milan Horváth as a Member of the Bank Board and Deputy CEO for Insurance Division
  • Mr. Igor Barát as a Member of the Bank Board and Deputy CEO for Banking Division
  • Mr. Igor Lichnovský as an External Member of the Bank Board.

Mr. Pavol Tavač remains in his position as a Member of the Bank Board and Deputy CEO responsible for Risk Management and Treasury.

Rastislav Podhorec brings extensive work experience in the banking and insurance sector. Over the past year, he served as a Member of the Bank Board and Deputy CEO for Financing and Insurance at EXIMBANKA SR. Previously, he held the role of CEO at AIG Funds Central Europe, founded and chaired the Association of Financial Intermediaries and Financial Advisors, was a member of the Board of the Investment Guarantee Fund, and served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Asset Management Companies. He also held a position as a Member of the Supervisory Board of EXIMBANKA SR.

Milan Horváth has acquired substantial expertise through years of work in the banking and insurance sectors, holding various leading positions in EXIMBANKA SR, the National Bank of the Slovak Republic, and the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic.

Igor Barát has broad professional background spanning finance, economics, and strategic management, offering a unique blend of expertise in both governmental and corporate settings.

Igor Lichnovský is an experienced professional in banking, insurance, and cross-border trade. Among other roles, he serves as the Chairman of the Bank Board and CEO, as well as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of EXIMBANKA SR.

The vision of EXIMBANKA SR is to stand by Slovak exporters and support them in entering both new and established markets abroad. EXIMBANKA SR is eager to grow and contribute to the development of economic ties for Slovak companies internationally through its products, knowledge, and relationships. In addition to supporting traditional businesses, EXIMBANKA SR is committed to assisting also companies from new innovative segments of the Slovak economy.
