Sub-Saharan Africa in the spotlight at BU AGM in Rwanda
KIGALI 10th November 2022 – Trade and investment in Sub-Saharan Africa is front and centre of discussions this week in Rwanda where a large delegation of the global export credit and investment insurance industry has gathered along with partners from African and international stakeholders for the 2022 Berne Union AGM, hosted by member, African Trade Insurance (ATI).

77 financial institutions participated in the meetings, across 4 days, including BU Members, African and international stakeholders.
Sub-Saharan Africa was the focus of discussions: potential for greater intra-regional trade and integration into international value chains; the transition of Africa’s energy sector; and the role of international finance and investment in the context of debt sustainability.
The region is a strategic focus for the Berne Union, which launched a working group to build awareness and promote collaboration among industry stakeholders on projects relating to the region
